UPDATE-
January 19, 2017 - During some winter maintenance, I pulled the valve covers and checked the valve clearances again. Approximately 82,000 miles on the clock.
Amazingly, the valves were still all within specification. Only one of the valves changed at all. One of the intake valves on cylinder #1 had tightened up just a smidge; from .006" to .005". Still in spec.
The valves on this 2004 ST-1300 have never needed to be adjusted.

December 11th, 2014 -
Finished up checking the valve clearances last night. The factory specifications are .006" for the intake valves and .010" for the exhaust valves, give or take .001".
The valves have never been checked or adjusted and the bike has 61,500 miles on it. They are all still within specification !!
What a machine !!!
I will install some new spark plugs before buttoning it back up.
The ST-1300 has a pretty cool looking air box configuration sitting between the massive aluminum frame rails with the air funnels sticking up.
Some serious maintenance and upgrades going on here. (2014)
